NC2: THIS. IS. META.

When I posted that drawing to LiveJournal, a user named freya_sacksen suggested an alternative word use in the joke in the first drawing... as her interpretation suggested to her that I might have intended to use "sadists" instead of "masochists."

I actually had meant to use "masochists," but replacing "masochists" with "sadists" did not, in my mind, make the joke any less funny... it just changed the implications behind it.

So obviously, that meant I had to do a new drawing and use the same joke in a different way.

I have to admit, it did feel "weird" to me right from the start to even consider doing a drawing like this. It's never even occurred to me before to make a drawing of the subject reacting to a previous piece of art about them. It's even weirder because not only are these characters are all VERY MUCH NOT MINE ([link]), they're based on current, ongoing series characters created and portrayed by real people who ARE watching and DO see this stuff.

I know, because Doug Walker, the man behind the Critic and Ask That Guy characters, faved my first drawing.

So... Doug, and Rob who I know helps make these characters what they are, and anyone else who has helped make Planet Awesome what it is... I really just hope I got this right.



And because I know the writing here is hard to read because I don't usually draw scenery AT ALL, and because I use really small sketchbooks which force me to have to cram things in a bit, here is a handy transcript of what the characters are saying:
