Oh yes. Yes there IS a story behind this. It is accompanied by a photoshoot. It's going to be posted later. It is EPIC. (And YES, of course I'm going to link it here.)
For now, all I have to say is that this is entirely, completely, 100% Kyle's fault, but I REGRET NOTHING. Also, the following story is based on real events. The names have not been changed, we all know very well that none of us are innocent, but certain details (mostly for example pretty much all of them) have been changed to encourage... erm, I mean *protect* the artistically insane.
Look, all I did was put on a coat, stroll into the room, and launch into a dramatic reading of a poem I wrote about such timeless themes as trees and love and phallic symbols infested by rats and transsexuals fucking the sky. Then Mr. Almighty Art Critic had to go and tell me I looked like Neil Gaiman doing that, so the obvious THINGS had to happen.
Those obvious things, obviously, were that I had to take a bunch of photos that will somehow eventually tie together with a narrative involving enchanted jewelry, a magical book of Alice in Wonderland fanfiction, my cat…. who…. is a wizard I guess, I dunno… and a creepy door that goes to Hell, or something.
(Just for the sake of clarity: This isn't a header or poster for a piece of fanfiction. It's... more like a kind of elaborate ascended blog entry about stuff that REALLY DID happen... just not necessarily as literally as they have been portrayed.)
Go off and make some popcorn, kids. This one's going to take a while to upload and format.
